Οι καλλιτέχνες του Flamenco σχολιάζουν...

Πώς σχολιάζουν κάποιοι από τους πιο σημαντικούς καλλιτέχνες του Flamenco την ένταξή του στην λίστα Αϋλης Πολιτιστικής Κληρονοµιάς της Ανθρωπότητας;

And what do flamenco artists think?

Cañizares:

We finally did it! There have been many centuries of flamenco history and intense work, of sowing, of farming the land, of working the soil in flamenco. There have been many of us artists, amateurs, writers, audiences, promoters, peñas and flamenco entities, etc… who together, on different fronts, have worked arduously in order to finally be able to reap the benefit of the effort we’ve made with so much love; for us to be recognized, for us to be heard in the world, for it to be known that Flamenco exists! As an artist, all I can say is that I feel full of pride which doesn’t culminate in vanity. Pride for the effort, both individual and collective, which has made it possible that thanks to everyone, today Flamenco is recognized in the world as a type of Music and Artform all its own. From my heart, I propose an emotional toast to all those who are no longer here and to those of us who are still here, because thanks to everyone’s determination and effort, Flamenco has finally been recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. To Flamenco!
